1st Destination for CityTale: London!

Hi everybody!
Though it was pretty clear since the 2nd day, now that the poll is closed we can officially announce that London was selected by a majority vote to be CityTale’s first destination.
Dealing with a large city like London, which is rich in it’s history, makes it harder than usual to write a game – there are just so many options! So if you’re living in London or the area nearby, and wish to help us with the writing of this game, please contact us using the contact form.

On other news, our comic book contest has ended. We’ve received some drawings and games ideas, so thanks to all of you who took part in this contest. After some deliberation inside the Carmel Games team, we managed to choose the winner, so congratulation Kristen Thacker, your comic book is on its way 🙂

The winning entry

Here are some more of the drawings we’ve received, from Kristen Thacker, FantacyLover, Jonathan, Troubadour, Shir M. and Ivana Nikolich.

That is all for today, have a beautiful day 🙂

Although I didn’t vote for London, I love the UK!! Can’t wait to see what you do with it!!

    • Moti

Me neither, I voted for Dublin 😀
But I’m pretty sure we can come up with a great plot for this game. The only thing I fear of is to draw London’s landmarks, they have so many small details.

      • TJ

Ahhh… I used to live in Belfast, and Dublin is on my list of places I want to see… but I voted for Jerusalem!
As far as drawing the details, I’m sure you’ll do an excellent job! You’re so very talented, Moti! 🙂

    Will be more competition sometime?
I forgot to send Painting 😛

    • Yes, we will have more contests in the near future.

  • Irenne

What a pity, I didn’t manage to do the drawing on time (thanks to the literature homework… and to my eccessive fussiness). Well, this means that now I can take all the time I want to refine all the details and just send it when I finish it, like a fanart of some sort 🙂
P.S: I voted for Brasov, but London was my third option (the second was Dublin) so I’m happy anyway 😀

    • Hi Irenne,
Sorry that you didn’t make it to the deadline.. Make sure to send us your artwork when its finished, we’d still love to take a look at it of course:)
And we’re glad that we at least got into your top 3 cities!

  • Miss Swag RebelDreamer

i live in londion , you guys should look at “oxford street” -one of the most busiest streets in the world

    • We most definitely will! Thank you 🙂

      • Miss Swag RebelDreamer

OK i read it i wasn’t sure if i was right its kinda like a fusion with poptropica and carmel games – its unique something new 🙂

  • Cap’n Marcela

Sorry to bother you.. but your winning entry is from a game i used to play called poptropica…. It is exactly the same.. Can you please look into it

    • Hi there Cap’n!

While you are right that the characters are in the same style as those in Poptropica, the characters in the winning picture were designed upon the characters in our own games. Whether they were physically drawn by hand or using some software is irrelevant because as we said in the contest rules, every artwork is allowed as long as you’ve created it. The winner took the time to recreate 46 of our characters, this definitely required a decent amount of effort.

      • Cap’n Marcela

Ok… Thanks. I didn’t know the rules completely… and yes it does take effort to make that many characters!!😊

  • Angela Tinkerbell

    cool <3

  • Willow Bailey

i wish my manga characters were half as good as those ones
