Plans for October 2016

Hi everybody!
Do you like real-life escape rooms? If so, you’re sure to like our upcoming ‘Escape the Escape Room’ game.
In this game you’ll do your best in escaping Dracula’s castle. The room master is out on a break so he won’t be helping you and if that’s not enough, your partner is not the sharpest pencil in the drawer.
We got the idea for this game after visiting a vampires-themed escape room. It was kind of cool.
Share with us your favorite escape room story (and if you also have a link to the room’s website please add it too!)

Continuing with escape related issues, we have another escape game (no characters, just riddles) we will soon start working on and if it will be a success we’ll might turn it into a series.
In this particular game you’ll be playing a detective who must investigate some mysterious phenomena at the Keller Hotel.

Other than that, we are having fun with some concept art for the upcoming VP.
We’re still looking for the right graphics style for the series. The easier way for us would be sticking with the same style we had in Love Chase, but we’re not sure it would be a good fit.
The Gatekeeper’s graphics style was too dark and gloomy, so we just need to find the right balance.

Saucy Devil Gordon will also be returning for a sequel very soon. This time he’ll be looking for an adventure at the museum.

We would like to remind you all that in 3 days from today, this Sunday, we’ll be releasing this year’s Halloween game on Carmel+, so make sure to check it out!

That’s all for today, have a great weekend!

    Excellent news all around!

Escape Rooms are very popular in Holland right now. Escaped from a couple very interesting ones: newspaper room (you had to figure out wich story you had to write, before you got fired, deadline day..). Escaped from the bath room of a young girl who ofcourse comes visit now and then… And escaped from a real prison in Rotterdam. They lock you up with a cellmate, and there are a lot of actors. Guards you can trust and guards you can’t trust, a corrupt priest, soccer team (or is it coke smuggling..). Other escape rooms I find interesting: Voodoo room, hikers cabin, office room of a ceo in the harbor of Rotterdam, and ofcourse the usual ‘what went wrong in this lab’ aka Half Life Room :d

    • Hi Jeroen,

Yes, it seems like they are popular all across Europe (and more) at the moment. I went to a couple in Budapest too.
The ones you described sound very interesting, especially the one with the prison 🙂

You wanted to release 2 other games before the halloween game right? Is that still happening or do we have to wait?

    • Yes, Quest for Eclair was released, but Save the Clock Tower is delayed because of hurricane Matthew 🙁

  • Krissie

Never been to an escape room, but there’s one opening in my town in a few months! 😀 They’re doing a Halloween event, and the two rooms they’ll have will be one where you try to escape from a psychology professor trying to kill his students because he suspects they’re cheating, and the other will be a time travel one. I’m so excited! My cousin and I went to an indie business expo, and they had a table near the door where you had to solve a puzzle and get into a box that had the ‘antidote’ for the ‘poison’ someone used on you.

    • Yes.

Don’t know about actual rooms, but my favorite Escape Game series inverts the trope. It’s called “Don’t Escape” My favorite game in the series is Don’t Escape 3.

    • I love that series, escaping or not, these games are good 🙂

    • Lydia

Haha, this comment introduced me to and got me hooked on escape games. My favorite so far is the “Don’t Escape” series as well. I wish they would make more. I also like the escape games by Afro-Ninja.

The ideal story for the vortex Point 8 would be like- In the Keller Hotel, there is a mysterious phenomenon of missing customers whoever rents the room no. 13 on Friday every month. The hotel will be jointly managed by the heiress of the founder & her uncle, who with the help of scheming thugs(dressing up as ghosts) would try to capture the hotel through eliminating the heiress. This will lead to search by our VP heroes in which during the search, Craig and Caroline will also go missing, so Kevin will be our hero as usual as in the other games. The ending will be such that all hostages including the missing customers, heiress, Caroline and Craig will be found in a warehouse, bound and gagged by Kevin after defeating the scheming uncle and his two thugs.

P.S-I am very eagerly waiting for your upcoming games and your Midnight Cinema game was absolutely fabulous. Also, the above story is just a thought to make the future VP game story more interesting & I would appreciate the making of the game.

    • Hi Ravi, we actually have the basic plot for VP8 ready, so we might save your idea for future games, but thanks anyway 🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed Midnight Cinema and I hope you’ll enjoy our future games as well.

What about another episode of the Small Time Detective? That was pretty cool game, this time the mission of STD could be about the disappearance of children in the town.

P.S- I am obsessed with all your detective and Vortex Point games, they are so much fun!

    • There won’t be any sequel for Small Time Detective, but we are working on a new series featuring a secret government agent, kind of like Mission Impossible.

  • Cris Without H

I think that sticking to the classic Vortex Point style (although, Kevin’s redesign from the previous game was really nice) would be the best option.

    • We will publish more sketches soon, it will be very different from the one posted here.

I am Brazilian a long time not playing your games. I back these days, and loved to see a full list of new games! I started where he left off, and there are still 10. But good that yields more. Full of good news. 20 were new to me play, and have played half. I continue in the next agurado, including Christmas: D

    • Good to have you back Mateus!
Make sure to check our Carmel+ games!
