What’s for lunch?

Hi everybody!
WeΒ hopeΒ you’re all doing fine, we have two updates for you today:

Halloween 2016

About 40% of this year’s Halloween game is ready. We prefer not to share the graphics we have so far, so it will be a nice surprise (just like we did with Love Chase), but we can share some of the game’s early sketches:

We hope to have all 17 backgrounds of this game ready by next week, then we will start writing the dialogues (would you wish themΒ to be funny like in Chase, or shall we stick to more serious dialogues?)

Vortex Point 8

As time goes by, more decisions are being made regardingΒ the future of Vortex Point, we’re really excited and can’t wait to start working on it.
We decided to give VP the look of a misty fisherman town: wooden structures, a lighthouse, a pier, a beach on one side and tall cliffs on the other one, lots of pine trees and gas street lighting.

Now it’s time for us to deal with the small details:
The Simpsons have their Duff beer, Squishee and Krusty-O’s.
Harry Potter has Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans, Butterbeer and No Melt Ice Cream.
Even Scooby-Doo has Scooby snacks!
Which unique foods and beverages do you think should appear in the upcoming Vortex Point?
Share your thoughts with us!

That’s all for today, have a great day!

    Some ideas:
    Vortex Funnel Cake
    Ghostshake (like a milkshake?)
Something to do with the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man (in honor of Ghostbusters)

    • I really liked the Vortex Funnel Cake idea, we could make a funnel cake shaped like a vortex!

  • Brandon G

Since your going for a fishing type town how about vortex fish! (Adaption of the Swedish fish candies))

    • I used to be addicted to Swedish fish as a child, that’s a nice idea πŸ˜€

  • Sterre Luna Vermeer

Maybe something like those candy eyeballs(picture)? And Brickhard homemade cookies in the shape of ghost where people break there teeth on πŸ™‚

    • I Liked the cookies idea, maybe some white frosting too, thanks Sterre Luna πŸ™‚

  • Abdallah Amin

can you make a detective or an investigator series

    • We want to do Sherlock Holmes 3, just need to find the time for it.

  • Knight Rose

How about a mix with dark humor to really feel Halloween

  • petroa

Since the VP8 game has a fisherman town atmosphere, some foods I think might go along with that are Chum-Chimichangas, Jerkbait Jam or Jelly, Anglerfood Cake, Spinnerbait Spaghetti, Bobber Bacon Bites, and Tabasco Tackle Sauce.

  • Tom

Vortex caramel muffins, something with caramel as a nod to your name.

    • Indeed Tom, we’ll need at least one snack which will reference Carmelo πŸ™‚

  • Fried Freakishly Fat Fish (it’s a Finger Food)
Brazilian Baked Beans Biscuits (it’s a Badass Breakfeast)

    • I liked the fried fish snack Uri, the other one sounds too much like an actual meal.

  • Keruk Gama

Ten-year-old oil-fried anglerfish biscuits, and American strawberry cokies withbeans in it.

    • Sounds horrifying, just the way we like it πŸ˜›

  • Aura

i really wish to have funny dialogues like in Love Chase. And it would be great to have Alien shaped jelly(in Vortex Point)

    • We will put a big emphasis on the dialogs, like all of our long games.

  • Shivani

I think dialogues should be funny( Its makes game more interesting). And in vortex point food may be any fish food or cookies.

    • Don’t worry Shivani, there will be fish, cookies and good dialogs, whether funny or serious πŸ˜€

  • Crystal Smith

witch-fingers and curse-tard like the doctor who Fish-fingers and custard but a more mysterious and spooky feel

    • Witch-fingers sounds delightful πŸ™‚

  • Tristan Stump

As a throwback to vortex point 3, how about the characters regularly visit vortex burger? or some kind of cheese puff-thing?

    • There will actually be a VP burger place πŸ™‚

  • גיא Χ¨Χ‘Χ™Χ₯

maybe the feet free wine from vp4

    • How didn’t we come up with that? πŸ™‚

  • Alexander Raja

    Mysteri-O’s breakfast cereal

    • Where every bite is a mystery!
      Good one!

  • Jennifer Scott

    Very Krueger-esque. I’m excited!

    • So are we Jennifer πŸ˜›

  • Umta-ta

    earl grey tea!

    • HeyViolet

      good ideas

    • πŸ˜›

  • Bilal Chaudary

Hey I dont think you remember me but im the guy who won the naming the genie contest. Carmelo! I have another name on this because my old one was my brother’s Is there anyway to get you to believe me? I was wondering if could be named after one of your characters.

    • We’ve emailed you Bilal.

  • Irenne

Well, the humour depends on the atmosphere: if it’ll be a scary game then I would suggest serious dialogs, if not, the you can go with the funny ones.
Now, about the food… Witch’s Sandwiches, maybe?

    • The jury is still out on the dialogs issue Irenne πŸ™‚
And the big question is what will be inside these sandwiches, or should I say: Sandwitches πŸ™‚

      • Irenne

I imagine them as sandwiches with an undefined green/purple filling. I thought they would have different tastes when different people ate them, but it looked a bit like the Every lavor Beans, so I discarded this idea. Now I don’t know what they taste like, I only know that, in my mind, Kevin hates them but Craig loves them πŸ™‚

  • CarmelGamer

Energy drinks or lollipops that look like eyeballs πŸ˜€

    • Liked the eyeball lollipops idea!

  • Riley

Hey! I would really enjoy the more funny dialogue! As for Vortex point, here are some ideas:
    1. Vortex vegetables
    2. Vortex’s pointy pizza (maybe some weird pizza that can be hazardous to your health xD)
    3. mystery macaroni and cheese
    4.ghostly gumbo
    5. Harold’s horrifying hamburgers
    6. Vortex point’s foggy french fries (tried to work with the atmosphere)
    7. fisherman’s alien-infested shrimp
    8. Star”boo”ks ( i tried to make a funny pun but it didn’t turn out good XD)
    9. scary soup
    10. and last but not least, Frite ( Finally, a good pun! A play on words with Sprite! Haha I’m a genious)

Okay, those are just a few of my ideas! You can message me back if you like any of them and want more! πŸ˜€

    • Thank you for so many ideas Riley!
We’ll definitely use some of them, I especially liked the pizza idea πŸ™‚

      • Riley

        Thank you! πŸ˜€

        • adi

oh i like your ideas Riley!

      • Riley

        I’m so excited!! πŸ˜€

      • Maryam

        yeah i agree with Carmelo.

  • Kritin

    Hazard-O’s Toxic Potato Chips

    • I imagine them as green and glowing, sounds good πŸ™‚

      • Kritin

        Yeah πŸ™‚

  • Kimberly Lopez

I can’t wait to see how the next Vortex Point comes out! πŸ˜€ I love that you’re going for a cozy fishing town look. For the food, you could try Casper Crunch (like Captain Crunch, since you like to reference it a lot). πŸ˜‰ Or you could also do something like Captain Hook’s Radioactive Fishsticks (“Gives You That Warm Feeling Inside”).

    • Really liked the Casper Crunch idea Kimberly (we are big Captain Crunch fans indeed!), we’ll try to get it in there!

  • Mr.Crow

    Maybe Vortex-O’s as a cereal????

    • Vortex shaped cereal could work

  • Maryam

what about the doll denabell escaping out and kidnapping kevin and craig and now caraline has to save them

    • Possibly the plot for VP9.

  • Maryam

really nice discussion i like it

  • Cathy Benzel

    I really love your games!

  • Cathy Benzel

By the way, we could have
A No-Melt Slimicle ( a popsicle made out of slime that never melts and filled with eyeballs)
    And to frighten the kids,
A good strawberry or chocolate or vanilla cupcake with mashed green pea filling (Sounds like a nightmare, doesn’t it?)
A Bertie Bott’s Every Flavoure Beans type thing (eyeballs instead of beans and flavours like blood, shoe, real eyeball, pea, and all the good stuff)

    • Hi Cathy,

I liked the Slimicle πŸ™‚ The cupcake sounds disgusting! We are trying to think of some kind of an Every Flavor equivalent, still thinking.

  • Charly Gulati

i would prefer both funny as well as serious dialogues.

  • Narval Swagger

I’d love when your games are full of funny dialogues. But, if it doesn’t have them, I still love it! πŸ˜€

  • RockyRockz

I will suggest for food items
Shrunken heads lollipops and Eye Ball Lollipops
Jelly fish Jello and Hazard Pizza
    Fried Witch Fingers
Sloppy Joe’s burger from Your game
Guys can you add my name in vortex point as one of your characters my name is Hafeez

    • We loved the Shrunken heads and the Witch fingers ideas! We don’t know if we’ll be able to add your name as a VP character, but we can probably find you a place in one of our other games.

      • RockyRockz

thanks ! carmelo i am waiting you guys rockz

      • RockyRockz

  • Kunal

After a long time ago i want to tell you carmello that,i love your games but i want to say something that the background graphics of your games had got extremely good but your characters are not so interesting . so i isnist you to keep some of your older game characters in th game or you can hold an voting poll about the new one and old one characters.

    • We have a strong inner Carmel Games debate regarding this issue Kunal, it’s not simple πŸ™‚

  • Srijan

I think that you should give serious and grim dialogues as the game is for halloween

    • This is indeed one of our considerations.

  • Ansh Singhal

I guess you should keep funny dialogues, it makes the game more funny and people feel like to play it more and more and share it with their friends as well:)

    • That’s true but that could also be the case in a more serious game, for example “The Gatekeeper”. It depends on the audience.
