Game challenge – Phase 2

Hi everybody!
Thank you all for your great ideas. I tried combining something from each comment into a complete plot. While not all things are visible in the general gameplay which is written below, they will emerge in the game’s graphics.
I based most of the game’s plot upon Ricky and Uri Chachick’s ideas, combining many of the other ideas. I had to cut it all a bit due to the time and graphic limitations that we have.
Write your opinions regarding the game’s script below and feel free to suggest any changes that you think will make this game better.

The game’s plot (spoilers ahead!)

Brewster Chipptooth is a young pirate who wishes to change the murderous reputation that all of the pirates have.
That’s why he decides to share a treasure with the people of his village, Port Rascal.
Only one thing stands in his way: He must find a treasure first!

Gameplay:
You will play as Brewster. First you’ll need to find three treasure map pieces which are scattered all over the village.
Later on you’ll need to find two doubloons. These will allow you to buy items in the game.
The first doubloon is located under the carpet at the local pub (The Grande Cannon), this doubloon is unique in the sense that it is old, discolored, scratched and no one (human) will agree to accept it as payment, claiming it might not be genuine.
For the first proper doubloon you’ll need to spend your damaged doubloon in the vending machine, which will accept it as it cannot detect its bad quality. Nothing good comes out of this machine, it just takes all your money! But wait! There’s a note on the machine! “For serrrrrrvice or refund please call – 5557812”.
Head back to the pub and use the phone to make this call. A messenger will arrive to the pub and give you back your doubloon.
While you’re at the pub, take the empty glass and the rug from the counter, and the cheese from the shelf.
For the second doubloon, you’ll need to get some rum for the angry captain. You can’t buy rum because it’s too expensive, but lucky you, there’s a skeleton drinking rum right outside the fort. He won’t share his rum with you, but you can use the rug to soak in the puddle of rum which is just below the skeleton.
Use the soaked rug on the glass to extract and there you have it – a glass of rum. The captain is happy and he gives you your second doubloon in return.

At the Barnacle Bay Boutique you buy a peg leg. They have a special sale, buy one and get two more for free!
You end up with an alcohol soaked peg leg, a deluxe peg leg (has a rectangular block of wood at the end acting as a substitute ‘foot’, this makes the shape of the leg rather like some kind of a key) and Simon Pegg Legg (decorated as a zombie leg, with actual rotting flesh).

You keep on spending your doubloons at Cove Crafts, the right place for the discerning Arrrtist.
You buy there some yellow paint (you’ll be able to choose other colors also, and replace your choice later on).

Head for the The Secret Caverns. You’ll find a pumpernickel rye cracker inside a necklace on one of the skeletons there. Use the cheese on the rye cracker. Remove the skeleton’s eye patch. What’s that inside? A pearl! You grab it. Inside the Secret Caverns sits Tom “Cutlass Rattler” Tripps. He’s depressed because his parrot is missing. You can see a photo of Tom and his yellow parrot on the wall.

Head to the pier, there you will bribe the white parrot with the cheese cracker, he will not settle for a plain cracker of course. The parrot decides to join you. Use the yellow paint you bought on the parrot (Don’t worry, the paint is non-toxic and feathers friendly).
Give the yellow parrot to Tom.
Now Tom is so happy that he decides to give you his rat as a gift (it’s not just a rat, it’s a pie-rat!)
But don’t get your hopes up yet, because just then, out of nowhere comes an evil vulture that steals your rat. Give the Simon Pegg Legg to the vulture. He will grab it and release your rat. Now the rat is safe in your pocket.

Head to the pier once again and use your last doubloon to rent a boat. Now you can set sail to the nearby island.
On the island you’ll meet Garrick “Dubloon Devil” Clegg. He just stands there guarding a delicious-looking pie (“None shall take my pie!”) which is on a table right behind him.
There is a tree right next to the table with hole in it. In the foreground there’s another tree which happens to have a hole too!
Use your rat on the front hole. It will scurry in and emerge from the hole at the tree by the table. It will drag away the pie, emerge from the hole in the front tree and will then eat the pie, leaving behind a pearl which until then was in the middle of the pie.
In this location there’s also a campfire, use the alcohol soaked peg leg on the fire to make yourself a torch.

Now that you have two pearls and the deluxe peg leg (as a key), you can use them to open the entrance to the old fort. The fort is very dark so you will need the torch to enter.
Inside the fort you’ll find a puzzle you’ll need to solve. After solving it correctly, you finally get to place your hands on the treasure, and share your wealth.
The end!

That’s it for now…

After approving the script, we’ll start working on the game’s background sketches and characters.
I’ll do my best to publish it all within two weeks.

Make sure to check out our site this Tuesday for our weekly update, when we’ll reveal the basic plot for CityTale: London, and more.
Cheers!
